Felicity Ford is studying for her PhD at Oxford Brookes University where she co-runs the Sound Diaries website with Dr Paul Whitty. Her major focus for study is our imaginative relationship with everyday sounds and in the part that sounds play in our experiences of memory, geography and place. Particularly interested in Domestic Sounds and The Domestic Soundscape, she is interested in how banal reality can be represented in sound.

She enjoys walking and all the soundscapes one can encounter while out and listening, from the bustle of urban traffic booming down her road to the majestic silence of mountains. She has written for Twist Collective and Yarn Forward magazine, worked on BBC Oxford’s radio show, The Hub, fulfilled various podcast and radio related commissions for Sound and Music, and sporadically contributes to Framework - a radio show dedicated to field-recordings and run by Patrick McGinley.

She is available for writing commissions and is especially interested in native sheep breeds and the history of the woollen trade in the UK. Sound and wool are combined materials for her, both relating to our multisensory and imaginative experience of place.

She is also available for radio productions and is currently working for The Hub, Oxford's cultural magazine show.
